Shades of People - Cover
Shades of People
Sheila M. Kelly and Shelley Rotner, Holiday House 2009

This is a very simple, yet beautiful book with a powerful message. Filled with wonderful color photographs of multi-ethnic children. This is great introduction to racial and ethnic diversity. There are all kinds of people, but have you ever noticed how many different "shades" there are? If you look through the pages of this book there are many different children of all shades. You can see creamy, ivory, sandy, peach, coffee, cocoa, copper, tan, pink, rose, almond, "shades of gold," bronze and brown. A great introduction to diversity for even very young children. A gem!
