Pablo's Tree - Cover
Pablo's Tree
Pat Mora, Simon & Shuster Books for Young Readers, New York, 1994

Each year on his birthday, Pablo, a young Mexican-American boy, looks forward to visiting his abuelito (grandfather) to see how he has decorated Pablo's birthday tree. This is a very special tree Abuelito planted on the day Pablo was adopted, the very day he came home. Sometimes he uses lights, little pinatas, animals, candies, whatever he thinks of. This year, as Pablo and his mother get ready to go to Abuelito's house, he wonders as usual what will be on the tree. When he arrives, he once again finds something special waiting for him. He asks to hear the story of how he came to be part of this loving family.
