This is a lovely book, written by a clinical psychologist , about long separation between parent and child and the feelings of both. Simply, lovingly, clearly stated, little rabbit tells big rabbit what it was like “when you weren’t with me". Big rabbit, listens caringly, and shares what it was like from his/her perspective. Very powerful, with both pain and love expressed in ways that children as young as three (and up to 10!!) will understand. "I wasn’t with you then," said Big Rabbit, "But I am here now." "Little Rabbit and Big Rabbit ...looked into each other’s eyes and then said, "We are together again after so long". Here’s a link to the author reading the book. Woodson and Lopez at their best!
